Hexagons are go!

Yes, the hexie blanket is finally finished! Actually, I finished it a few months ago, but I couldn't share it until I saw my sister and gave it to her.

Despite finishing it months ago, I didn't take any photos until the evening before I gave it away, hence why they are not the best!

If there was some way to update blogs via telepathy, I would have about 4 updates a day. I can't tell you how many posts I compose in my head, but never actually get around to writing.

I still haven't finished processing my #100daysOfNature photos - I am pleased to say that I did actually complete the challenge, but the last few weeks were hard - I was leaving home in the dark and getting home in the dark. Trying to find something interesting to capture was interesting. I've processed up to about day 84, but I think I'm lacking the inspiration to do the others at the moment. They will get done at some point...

I am all over crochet again at the moment. I have been making owls like a woman possessed from the lovely pattern at Moji-Moji Designs. I have also decided that blankets are one of my most favourite things in the world to make, so I have 2 of them on the go. More on those to follow...

Hexagon wheel

OK, one more shot of these beauties!

Hexagons-a-go-go

After many, many (many) weeks, I have finally completed all my full hexagons - including the nefarious weaving in of ends. 81 of the dudes - check them out!

Admittedly, they don't look quite as impressive in the photo as I feel they should, but I am still mighty pleased with myself.

Now, I just need to figure how how to actually arrange them...

The hexagons march on...

We have some friends over later, but I am taking advantage of the long overdue sunny weather to sit in the garden (on my picnic blanket) until then. Whilst braving hay fever, I am also being good & weaving in ends of some hexagons. I hate weaving in, but I hate having a backlog of it at the end of a project even more so I am trying to keep up with it!

I am making pretty decent progress on these - I'm up to 20-something. I'm not sure how many I'll need, time will tell...

Hexagon love

Although I have been crocheting for a while now, I have only recently discover the joy of granny squares. Even better, yesterday I made my first granny hexagon!

I impulsively bought some lively Robin DK yarn at the local craft store the other day & had the genius notion to make a hexagon Afghan.  It's not the nicest yarn to use - it's a little scratchy & splitty - but it is cheerful, so I am feeling quite chirpy making my way through these...
